Summertime Coming to Close...

This morning when I woke up it felt like fall. I almost went back into the house to grab a jacket on my way to work! I don't know that I am ready for fall to be here. It seems like Summer just arrived, and though I have had a few complaints of the heat, I am not ready for it to end... I really had a hard time this last winter and I am not ready to face the glum of cold, wet, dark and dismal days ahead!

Next Tuesday the kids start school again, with the exception of Parkyr. He is the one who needs to start school the most! His kindergarten will not start until the following week. Dyllan will be in 5th grade, Tansyn in 2nd. I cannot believe they are as old as they are. It seems like yesterday that I was holding each of them in my arms laughing and playing with them. Watching the funny things they would do, watching the funny things their dad would do with them...GIVE ME YOUR HEART!

We have now lived in our house in Springville for a year. It has been a great place to be in many ways, and a not so great place as well. I am ready to be in my own house, with my own rules. Ready to be able to paint things which need to be painted, fix things which need fixing, and to have all my junk readily available and organized. It has been really hard being in this small house with my 5 boys. We have purged an enormous amount of things since moving here. Most to the DI. Don't get me wrong, I am not a packrat! There just has been no room for things.

It is a hard time right now for us. Chris's school seems never-ending. Work is good, but my hours are getting cut...I was working 4-5 12 hour days/week. My boss hired some people to pick up the slack, so now I am back to 3 days/week. Does this mean I go back to Delta to work at the nursing home? I really love the people there, I am grateful for the friends I have there, but I do not miss working extra to work there.

Things to look forward to: (no particular order except #1)
WESSIE
Halloween
The Holidays
Another Birthday ?
Mom's, Tansyn's, Chris's Birthdays
Fall leaves
Another month closer to Chris being done with school...
Helen being off her maternity leave
A good babysitter for the kids

Things not looking forward to:
Snow
Cold
Wet
Paying Rent
Paying for the broken heater in Chris' car
Paying to fix the fridge again
Paying other bills...

We did in fact, fall off of the face of the planet for a YEAR!

We're back, and we're blogging. Not in much of a mood to do it, but some people keep begging for pics. So here they are. Don't worry, you weren't the only one begging... So just after Christmas we went sledding at Jolleys Ranch up Hobble Creek Canyon. It was a blast!

So, the other day we made sugar cookies. I will let you see how it went....

I took away the high chairs the other day, definately reconsidering restrained eating. This was after we made more frosting for the cookies.

If they weren't so cute, it would NOT be worth it! Sorry these pics are so baby biased....

The End for today, time for Chayse and I to go to bed.

Where do all of the missing things go???

Ugh. Every day the kids bring home a book to be read and returned to school. Tansyn has a habit of pulling everything out of his backpack in the van on the way home. Yesterday as he started this I put a quick end to it. "Every time you pull your stuff out in the van, something gets lost. Keep it in your backpack until we get home." So it went back into the backpack. We got home and brought things in the house and he pulled it all out again.

He was very excited about the book he brought home yesterday, Rescue Heros Earthquakes... So was Parkyr. They huddled against my loveseat and looked at the book for a little bit, and then scurried off to play. I was on the phone finding out that I would have had the nurse residency job, but someone who had OR experience came along and they hired them for the OR, which was what I would have done after the 6 weeks of residency. So, then, residency job obsolete. Why train new nurse when experienced nurse available??? "We've made it so that you can apply again in May, and we're hopeful that the need for nurses based on the economy will be greater at that point. PLEASE re-apply in May."

After that news I didn't give the little yellow book one more thought....Until it was almost time to put kids to bed, and the book needed to be read. I looked for a while, Had the kids look for awhile, got mad. Looked some more, Trevor looked, and the kids looked as good as kids do. Got even madder. Sent the kids to bed in fury, and looked again some more. Did dishes, looked some more. Put babies to bed, looked some more. Got up this morning, kept looking.

Now, I have decided it has gone the way of the missing shoes and socks, the missing DVD cases and most things which are important to me. I do not have a messy house, so where do these things go???? Guess I'll be paying for that one.

Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat.

There is no implication in the following post related to the title. Except for maybe we have found THE friendliest neighborhood to live in. My house has been bombarded with food and goodies. They don't last long with 5 boys around (and a sweet toothed mom and dad) though. But I do have to say, none of the things we've received have looked atrocious, and everything has tasted lovely!
The Joyner household continues.....constantly. Everything has been so busy lately. I had good intentions on making some great pillows as gifts to some of our neighbors who have been so sweet in our transition down here. As it sits, 4 pillows were finished, (two of which went to my sisters-in-law, I hope you like them!), and at this late unprepared moment, I am seriously contemplating the cheesy poem about "my version of homemade fudge" along with a candy bar. In fact, I know that is what it is going to be. SORRY NEIGHBORS!! (and I'm sitting here updating my blog?!?)
The boys are just crazily excited about all of our snow, and Christmas coming. Each day begins with "Is it Christmas yet?" Even the twins are thoroughly enjoying the tree and unwrapping presents. I am currently using the famous quote from my madre, "Santa doesn't come to a dirty house". My brother has backed me up on it too. So far, its working...
Chris and the boys built an awesome snow fort in our front yard, actually it looks like an igloo. Dyllan was pretty hyped up about sleeping in it. When I told him there was no way he was sleeping out there all he said was "buuuuttt mmmooooommm, dad slept in a snow cave before." Ya ya ya. Stupid scouts.
Well, I do have lots to do today, and with my short "nap" last night I know my energy will be dwindling quickly. Everyone is doing well, despite the splotchy stomach bug that made the rounds, and everyone is as happy and cute as ever. We wish all a Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Bon Noel, and a Happy New Year! Be safe, with love, The JOYNERS!

Tagged Photos

This is my photo. I think its Dyllans 6th b-day party. Imagine that. He is wearing a white tee. He never leaves his other shirt on, always rips it off and runs around in his stupid tee. I think we had a movie party. Too many kids, too many birthday parties...We just did one for Tansyn last week!

So now I have to tag 4 of you. Hmmm. Hilary, Jamie, Heather and Matt!

Here's the rules! Go to your picture files, open the 4th file and post the 4th picture. Also, write your memory of it.

Slacking Web Spinner

Wow. I'm a slacker. I was thinking that it had been a long time since I have updated, but not that long!!! I am just going to have to start fresh, and fill in the here and now.

So. When we were trying to find a name for Parkyr, the boys wanted to name him Peter Parker. And if the shoe fits, or the beanie in his case, he will wear it. (As a mask.) He is OBSESSED with Spiderman. Each day starts with: "What are you going to be for Halloween mommie? Red spiderman, or black spiderman. Or something else?" He gets mad when I tell him I am not going to be anything, so I have settled on telling him I will be myself....."A witch?" he asks!.!.Needless to say we have an old costume in storage that I will be finding for Halloween. Hope he is not dissapointed that it is RED and not Black.

On friday I took the twins in for their checkup. Parkyr kindly volunteered to bring the baby wipes in his spiderman backpack. Little did I know that he snuck a few other items in the bag as well. One of them was his beenie. I mean, spiderman mask. I was coversing with a few of the patients in the waiting room as he slyly doned his mask and struck a web slinging pose in the chair next to me. Then he jumped off the chair ready to strike. The entire waiting room had a great laugh. The funniest thing is that it doesn't have any eye holes in it, so he is blind as a bat the entire time he wears it. He is going to hurt himself sometime.

Last thursday spidey cost me some ka-ching$$$. I didn't realize it until I was driving home from work. It was dark and a crack in the glass caught my attention. Yes, thats right folks. He scaled my van and broke my windshield. I later noticed the finger and hand prints climing the hood. I was reassured that it was not Parkyr, it was spiderman.

Enough about him. The babies are good. They are starting to want to crawl. They will both get on hands and knees and rock. The are able to roll, or stretch their way around to whatever they want, and yes, we have had our first carpet tack injury. It didn't keep them off of the tile though. They like the cold smooth feel of it. Soon I will never be able to escape. I will have two crawlers trailing everywhere I go.

Chris is in Delta working again. It is so hard to do everything that needs to be done here. I am only working a couple of days each week until I get a more guaranteed schedule. That may happen in December. WE MISS YOU DADDY!!

The boys are doing good and their school pics came back last Friday. I picked background colors to be both brown, and one is blue and one is brown. They look cute though. They want to move back to our old house now that Chris is working there again. Dyllan says school was easier up there and that is why he wants to go back. No chance that is going to happen.

I'm getting sleepy, so I'm going to give it a rest. Chris took a pic of spidey the other day, maybe I'll get it posted soon. Luv to all!!

In the meantime....

Chaos is my life. I can't wait until I have a job to go with that chaos!! (Whatever...) The family is doing well, we are all awaiting school to start on THURSDAY-yeah! That is my excuse that my kids need to "practice" going to bed at 8:00, so they will be ready for school. I tried it, and it was definatly not enforced tonight. We'll see what happens tomorrow night.

Chris bought me tickets for Les Miserables at Tuacahn after I passed my boards, so we went Tuesday night. Jo watched the three oldest and we took the babies. What would I do without her? The show was fantastic! Just as good as Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. I don't know how else we have spent this week, but it seems we have been busy.

I have some great pics, and lots of great stories. For example, two weeks ago we were in sacrament meeting...(thats where all the good happens). It was a missionary report. Just for fun everyone stood up to sing Called to Serve-to hallmark his MTC experience. We were on the front row of the balcony (yes, I vowed I would never sit there again, but it was the only seat available upon our 2 minute late entry). So while we are standing there Parkyr climbs up over the railing and before we know it we hear the slurpping noise of a freshly detached spit string. Chris and I (each holding a baby) performed a double shoulder slam to the pew (which we were later complimented on mind you). I took advantage of the standing and glanced over the edge to see whos head it may have landed upon, but it hopefully landed on someones seat instead...If not, I do so apologize to that person.

My camera software was somehow deleted (and the disk is missing) so I've not been able to download my pics. I'm hopeful to figure this out soon. We'll save the other stories for the pictures....
