Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat.
The Joyner household continues.....constantly. Everything has been so busy lately. I had good intentions on making some great pillows as gifts to some of our neighbors who have been so sweet in our transition down here. As it sits, 4 pillows were finished, (two of which went to my sisters-in-law, I hope you like them!), and at this late unprepared moment, I am seriously contemplating the cheesy poem about "my version of homemade fudge" along with a candy bar. In fact, I know that is what it is going to be. SORRY NEIGHBORS!! (and I'm sitting here updating my blog?!?)
The boys are just crazily excited about all of our snow, and Christmas coming. Each day begins with "Is it Christmas yet?" Even the twins are thoroughly enjoying the tree and unwrapping presents. I am currently using the famous quote from my madre, "Santa doesn't come to a dirty house". My brother has backed me up on it too. So far, its working...
Chris and the boys built an awesome snow fort in our front yard, actually it looks like an igloo. Dyllan was pretty hyped up about sleeping in it. When I told him there was no way he was sleeping out there all he said was "buuuuttt mmmooooommm, dad slept in a snow cave before." Ya ya ya. Stupid scouts.
Well, I do have lots to do today, and with my short "nap" last night I know my energy will be dwindling quickly. Everyone is doing well, despite the splotchy stomach bug that made the rounds, and everyone is as happy and cute as ever. We wish all a Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Bon Noel, and a Happy New Year! Be safe, with love, The JOYNERS!

Slacking Web Spinner
So. When we were trying to find a name for Parkyr, the boys wanted to name him Peter Parker. And if the shoe fits, or the beanie in his case, he will wear it. (As a mask.) He is OBSESSED with Spiderman. Each day starts with: "What are you going to be for Halloween mommie? Red spiderman, or black spiderman. Or something else?" He gets mad when I tell him I am not going to be anything, so I have settled on telling him I will be myself....."A witch?" he asks!.!.Needless to say we have an old costume in storage that I will be finding for Halloween. Hope he is not dissapointed that it is RED and not Black.
On friday I took the twins in for their checkup. Parkyr kindly volunteered to bring the baby wipes in his spiderman backpack. Little did I know that he snuck a few other items in the bag as well. One of them was his beenie. I mean, spiderman mask. I was coversing with a few of the patients in the waiting room as he slyly doned his mask and struck a web slinging pose in the chair next to me. Then he jumped off the chair ready to strike. The entire waiting room had a great laugh. The funniest thing is that it doesn't have any eye holes in it, so he is blind as a bat the entire time he wears it. He is going to hurt himself sometime.
Last thursday spidey cost me some ka-ching$$$. I didn't realize it until I was driving home from work. It was dark and a crack in the glass caught my attention. Yes, thats right folks. He scaled my van and broke my windshield. I later noticed the finger and hand prints climing the hood. I was reassured that it was not Parkyr, it was spiderman.
Enough about him. The babies are good. They are starting to want to crawl. They will both get on hands and knees and rock. The are able to roll, or stretch their way around to whatever they want, and yes, we have had our first carpet tack injury. It didn't keep them off of the tile though. They like the cold smooth feel of it. Soon I will never be able to escape. I will have two crawlers trailing everywhere I go.
Chris is in Delta working again. It is so hard to do everything that needs to be done here. I am only working a couple of days each week until I get a more guaranteed schedule. That may happen in December. WE MISS YOU DADDY!!
The boys are doing good and their school pics came back last Friday. I picked background colors to be both brown, and one is blue and one is brown. They look cute though. They want to move back to our old house now that Chris is working there again. Dyllan says school was easier up there and that is why he wants to go back. No chance that is going to happen.
I'm getting sleepy, so I'm going to give it a rest. Chris took a pic of spidey the other day, maybe I'll get it posted soon. Luv to all!!

In the meantime....
Chris bought me tickets for Les Miserables at Tuacahn after I passed my boards, so we went Tuesday night. Jo watched the three oldest and we took the babies. What would I do without her? The show was fantastic! Just as good as Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. I don't know how else we have spent this week, but it seems we have been busy.
I have some great pics, and lots of great stories. For example, two weeks ago we were in sacrament meeting...(thats where all the good happens). It was a missionary report. Just for fun everyone stood up to sing Called to Serve-to hallmark his MTC experience. We were on the front row of the balcony (yes, I vowed I would never sit there again, but it was the only seat available upon our 2 minute late entry). So while we are standing there Parkyr climbs up over the railing and before we know it we hear the slurpping noise of a freshly detached spit string. Chris and I (each holding a baby) performed a double shoulder slam to the pew (which we were later complimented on mind you). I took advantage of the standing and glanced over the edge to see whos head it may have landed upon, but it hopefully landed on someones seat instead...If not, I do so apologize to that person.
My camera software was somehow deleted (and the disk is missing) so I've not been able to download my pics. I'm hopeful to figure this out soon. We'll save the other stories for the pictures....

Have license, cannot use....
We got there and I was the first one in. I had to read (skim) through a few instructions. "You will have to be fingerprinted and photographed upon entering....You have so long to take the test. The minimum amount of questions will be 75, the maximum 260. As soon as the test is 95% sure you are either passing or failing, it will shut off." So I started my test. After a few greuling questions (and about an hour), I remember looking down and seeing I was on #37. Moments after that my test shut off. I knew I hadn't even answered 75 questions! (Which I had, but it didn't seem like it.)
For the next couple of days I kept thinking back to all of my questions and thought about my answers. Hey, these were tough questions, and of course were on material I barely remember learning about, let alone things that I studied! At this point, I knew I was doomed!
So, it is 2 business days before you can pay for the unofficial results of the test. Monday, I thought I would take my chances to see if it was up. We were up at Duck Creek camping so I made Chris drive to the Duck Creek Exit office to get me to a computer. First, I pulled up the DOPL site. They did not have a license for me, so I anchored myself to receive the bad news. I pulled up my results, and alas! I did pass! I am now a Real Nurse!
My family all criticizes me because I thought I wasn't going to pass, but I tell you, it was a concern!
A couple of days later I got my license in the mail. I have applied for about a dozen jobs between Cedar and St. George Hospitals. Several of those were prior to my license. So I thought "When I have a license, it will be easier to get someone to look at my application, because I will have an actual license!" Yeah right. Now I have to wait for a "New nurse graduate program" (December, mind you) before I can be considered for a job. Needless to say I am a little bit discouraged right now. So remind me why I moved to Parowan?

Fourth Celebrations!
We kicked off our 4th holiday on the 3rd with a party at Jessica's house. The food was great and the company was better. Heather and Willy flew in from New York for Gram Kenneys 80th Birthday. Andrea and Terry were also at Jessica's house from North Carolina. It was fun to kick back and get aquainted with them!
We wouldn't be able to check in until 3:00, so we decided to take the kids to the parade. For small town Parowan, it was pretty great.
Then we headed up to Zion Ponderossa Resort where the festivities would begin.
Well, being prepared as usual, I left the detailed instructions here at home. We figured that since the map notated that the Resort was off to the Right just out of the park, we would have no problem finding it. Well, we were wrong. Neither Chris or I read through the directions, we just knew we had them. So, after our 3.5 hour trip, (and no cell service), we arrived at the Ranch.
The ranch was great. We stayed in a great Mountian Home that was perfect for our group size. I made enchiladas and rice for everyone for dinner that night, and despite my slow cooking rice- it was pretty tasty!
Saturday was grams bday, and also the party. It was alot of fun! It was so great to meet alot of Chris's family that I had never met. Here are some pics c/o Uncle Mike. (This prepared mom also forgot her camera.)

MIA and Cedar Breaks!
We went to Delta last week to visit Grandpa and Grandma S., and to visit our friends the Mincers. We had a great time swimming and catching up with everyone. Here's grandpa with the twins- Corby on the left, and Chayse on the right. ( I think...)
Before we left Tansyn had a friend (Jeremiah) over to play for a bit and have some bean burritos with no onion. Funny how much they look alike. Tansyn met him at a T-ball game. He said "Hey, you have dots like me, and Red hair like me." See below.
Parkyr ran away again tonight. I don't exactly know what I am going to do with him. Chris has been trying to find layouts for his website (he thinks he needs a personal site for work). So I was pulling up some sites and looking at different layouts when someone started pounding on our door. Chris answered and she ask, "Are you missing a kid? There is a 3ish year old running around by my house in his swimsuit. All I could get out of him was that he was trying to go swim." (That's right folks, no shoes, no shirt.....what a wonderful mother I am....add that to the White Trash label I've been given and soon I'll own them all!!) So Chris turned and counted the kids in my living room, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, (Anthony and Talia are up to spend the night) and alas! we knew we were missing one.
So, he went and picked him up. Each time he ends up missing, he is usually outside with the older boys. They decide they are done playing and leave him alone. He goes after them, or where he believes they have gone and wa-lla. One MIA doodle. At least he didn't have his bike to get away on. We were stupid enough to fix the flat tire and the "TRAIN" (choo, choo) wheels, I think I'll wait on the handle bars.
Saturday my little sister came up and we went up the mountain. It was FANTASTIC! The weather was great, and everything is truly beautiful right now. (See my sis's blog for a rundown of events.) I will post some pics too. I know that the hair slicked back is not very flattering, but its a quick "do" these days that counts.
Saturday night (somewhat instigated by jo) we had Jodie and Rendell over for a BBQ. The food was phenomenal. The company was good too, as long as Chris and I were talking! (JK JO) I decided maybe if we get them in the same room 6-7 more times maybe they will say more than "hi" to each other. It is funny how much they have in common. Movies, books, and a few other things. Crazy.
So the kids are tucked in, the babies are sleeping, I think now is the perfect time for me to get some shut-eye as well. Oh, by the way..Nice bids Matt. I only wished I could have seen you on the stage instead of just in front of it!

OUR New HOME~
Outside view when we moved in...
Our downstairs living room....
A view of our kitchen...
Close up!......
Down stairs main bath, not much of a view.
Entrance to the Harry Potter Room.
Upstairs kitchen.
Yes, its a mess, but it is a toy room that
I don't have to clean every day!
Upstairs Living Room, not much yet.
And lastly, the boys bathroom.
Well, that finishes my home tour. Chris has a house on the Board of Realtors tour tomorrow, and what compliments a showing better than home baked cookies? So, off I go to bake some cookies, and put the munchkins to bed! Night all!

What happens at church, stays at church!
Dyllan is well, what can I say about him? He's EIGHT. It is a hard age for me. He has outgrown the sweet little boy age. He is still a really great kid, but needs constant reminders that he is not as grown-up or as smart as he thinks he is. . (I thought that was reserved for teenagers). He is very independant as well, and often takes off on his bike without permission. Maybe that is a transition from country live to city, well, town life. I feel I need to give him permission to do things like that a bit more.
Tansyn just started Kindergarten Boot Camp. I am so glad he is going to school next year because for one thing, he is such a big kid! Another reason, he is so bored here at home day after day. As most moms know, boredom leads to destruction. Its really hard for me to spend as much time with him as I want because of the babies. Maybe I should be with him right now instead of blogging.
Oh Parkyr, my Parkyr. Or should I say Nachooooo? If I started I wouldn't know where to end. He is SOOOOOO busy. For those of you who haven't heard yet....We were hardly here one week when he decided he could go to the park. He decided to take Tansyn with him. It is only a few blocks away, but at that time I didn't know how to get to the park, so I had no idea he knew how to get there. Since then we have been fortunate that he has not passed main street. The other two known times he has escaped we caught him in front of "SEW Crazy" playing in the blue sand, and down in front of the video rental store. That time he had decided to follow the big boys on their bikes, but he missed their turn left and kept going straight. When Chris caught up with him he said, "Dad, you're not putting my bike in your car, YOU'RE NOT!" Dennis the menace, five times over!!!
Nearly every week, one of my boys does something to humiliate Chris and I during church. Last week, while everyone was quietly waiting for the sacrament to be passed around, Parkyr loudly proclaimed "Dad, I DON'T drink pee, I DON'T. I feel it will be awhile before that is beat, however this week, while Chris and I were sitting in Sunday School Brother Halterman came up behind Chris and grabbed his shoulder. Chris quietly turned around to see what he needed when he started to explain. "Don't you have a little boy who is wearing a green shirt today?" Chris answered "yes", then Brother Halterman continued, "Well, I was pulling in and I saw him running around outside the church". A young man jumped out after him, but Parkyr took off. So Brother Halterman came to get Chris. The plan was that he would go one way, and Chris would go the other and eventually one of them would catch him. Before they found him, someone had scuttled him into nursery where he remained for the rest of primary.
So, that is nearly enough for today, I will hopefully keep this updated. It is fun to read everyone elses blogs and keep up with YOU without speaking. Although I would prefer to talk face to face...till next time.
